Announcing the Annual General Meeting Date for 2022

LOBREC will be going entirely virtual for our AGM once again. This will give our membership more flexibility to participate from wherever you find yourselves, as well as keeping everyone Covid-safe.

The AGM will take place on Sunday November 27th, at 10am.

Announcing the Brooks White Youth Environmental Leadership Award

What is an important environmental issue that you see in Lake of Bays? How do you think we can address it?

Take a photo illustrating the issue or the solution and write a 50-200 word caption explaining how the photo addresses the issue or solution you want to highlight.

This Contest is open to any students attending elementary schools and high schools serving the Lake of Bays community, as well as home-schooled children and youth in the Lake of Bays region.

UPDATE: The contest submission deadline has been extended!

Contest opens: March 2nd, 2020

Contest closes: April 9th, 2020

Prizes

First: $500 for the student, and $500 for a club at the winning student's school

Second: $100 for the student, and $200 for a club at that student's school

Third: $50 for the student, and $150 for a club at that student's school

Summary of the 2019 AGM

LOBREC’s 2019 Annual General Meeting occurred on Saturday October 5th, and was a successful and informative event. Highlights included:

  • Announcing the Brooks White Youth Scholarship, in support of local students’ interest in the environment, and in honour of Brooks White - one of the founding members of LOBREC

  • LOBREC’s financial update, which was approved at the meeting and can be found here

  • Nomination and appointment of new member, Elaine Anselmi, to the board, and a thank-you to out-going board member Mark Bell for his work on the team.

2018-2019 Financial Statements, and 2019 AGM

LOBREC’s 2019 Annual General Meeting will be held on:

Saturday October 5, 2019, 10:30 am – 12:00 pm

at the Baysville Seniors Centre

At the AGM, we’ll be reviewing the past year’s work, looking ahead to the next 12 months, and electing new members to the Board. The financial statement will also be presented at our Annual General Meeting.
